Green technology
Companies are always looking to save on rising energy costs, but the green technology movement also includes proper disposal of retired hardware and using equipment manufactured in an environmentally friendly fashion. Several Asian countries and the European Union now dictate many green tech practices. Surveys show that IT departments are concerned about the environment, but many are not willing to trade server performance for machines that run cleaner, but a little slower. Still, green tech is an issue that's here to stay.
